1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PDFold ("the Service"), operated by MetaMarkets Inc., you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

2. Description of Service & Data Processing

PDFold is an AI-powered service that converts PDF documents into structured Markdown format. We offer both free and paid subscription plans tailored to different usage needs.

  • PDF Documents: Uploaded PDF files are never permanently stored on our servers. They are processed in memory and directly sent to the AI for extraction.
  • Generated Output: The resulting Markdown texts are stored in our database for your convenience. They remain accessible until they expire (based on your subscription tier rules) or until you manually delete them.

3. User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding the password that you use to access the Service.
  • You agree not to disclose your password to any third party.
  • You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.

4. Refund Policy

Strict No-Usage Refund Rule

Due to the significant costs associated with AI processing, our refund policy is strictly enforced. You are only eligible for a full refund if you have used absolutely NO credits (0 pages processed) on your paid plan.Once you have processed even a single page using your paid credits, you are no longer eligible for a refund for the current billing cycle.

No Refunds for Plan Changes

Switching between paid plans (e.g., Pro to Business or Business to Pro) is not eligible for a refund. The prorated amount from your current plan is applied as credit toward the new plan.

Top-Up Credits Are Non-Refundable

Additional page credits purchased as top-ups are non-refundable once the purchase is completed.

5. Fair Usage and API Limits

Our service is subject to rate limiting and fair usage policies to ensure high availability for all users. Attempting to bypass these limits, reverse engineer the service, or abuse the API may result in immediate account suspension.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding documents uploaded by users), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of PDFold and its licensors. You retain all rights to the documents you upload and the resulting markdown generated by the service.

7. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall MetaMarkets Inc., nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service.
